Well there you have it! My apartment in its splendor! I know it's a bit bare, but i think the lack of stuff makes it a lot more peaceful and easy to concentrate when i need to study or do papers smile.gif

A little background:
- I live alone in a 685 sq. foot apartment and i absolutely love it!
- I'm a third year student, senior status, graduating after summer school smile.gif
- I'm 20 years old, and turning 21 next month!
- I pay $910 a month and enjoy free water, free garbage, and free high speed internet (ResNet). The only things i pay for are cable TV, food, and electricity!

Your place reminds me of the Colleges at Davis.

^ isn't she adorable. Everyday, when I come home and she jumps all over me like a baby going crazy for a treat, it makes my day. I can never get mad at it when she looks at me with her puppy dog eyes. And the way she acts is beyond adorable.

It was her bday today, she's 2 years old I got her some new clothes and fed her the canned dog food. She slobbered all over the plate.

A pic of my baby when she was 4 weeks old barely out of her mommas belly.

You should take a picture of her in her new bday clothes. Too cute.

This is fun, but I don't have actual HOME-home pics, just pictures that happen to have my home in them....
Our furniture is mostly temporary, the couches were our aunt's that we got for free (i want grey sofa!), we're gonna invest in a nice credenza and coffee table soon, the curtain stuff is from IKEA but it looks quite nice. Eventually we want those chinese-style panel curtains to replace the reed ones when they get nappy, and something deliciously textured, like a loose-woven linen for the white curtains. The blues are a keeper (they're layered with the whites).
Our northwest facing window in the living room- great sunsets w/o the heat :

A view from that window last year:

Wall decal from whatisblik, living room,
baby loves it to death, of course i love it too
(that's the TV under it, thinking about wallmounting it....) :

Kitchen:

Master bedroom, the morning light here is beautiful-
at night we rely on our ikea lamp which is surprisingly very pretty.

Messy guest bedroom/second bedroom:

Rooftop shot, we used to spend a lot of time up there together before baby:

Why am I up this early?

Actually, the way i figure since the complex is pretty new (built and remodeled in 2003-2004? I'm not sure) and it's pretty much in a college town it's not too bad! The other place i was going to think of getting was a place that was $985 and it wasn't as big... it was really lucky for me to get in here! It was voted best to live in for 3 years straight! and it's cheaper because it's subsidized by the university tongue.gif they own it biggrin.gif the townhouses here cost something like $2.2k a month for 4 rooms and 2 baths, but it's HUGE... i'm a little envious of my friends living in the nice townhouses, but then i think, good thing i'm living alone! Because i would be smothered by their attention and wouldn't be able to do well in school hahah!

OOO, i should go see how walnut creek is tongue.gif i'm thinking about staying up here after i graduate and find work somewhere around here tongue.gif

Thanks for commenting!! biggrin.gif

yeahhh walnut creek is so beautiful i love shopping at ygnacio valley if i remember correctly, i really enjoyed the stay smile.gif I MISS THAI ICE TEA sooo badly too... canada falls short of this wonderful drink tears.gif

Recently bought a 56" Samsung HDTV. Here I am making the TV Stand for it.
Went to Home Depot and they cut out the pieces for free. Used 3/4" MDF wood. 49"x97".
Putting primer on it.

Putting it together.

1st layer of paint.

3rd layer of paint and put together. Waiting for it to dry.

Finished product. The two tapes are the width of the TV.

I'll post more pictures later when i get help moving the TV.

You have a nice car and I like how you have your desk next to your bed. Nice you have a bathroom in your room. tongue.gif

LOL well it's a little more neater than what it was since I was finally able to get it vacuumed and all that recently. LOL with the lights. Well they can be a pain cause sometimes they fall down and I just have to put them back up. Oy. Other wise it's nice for the dark since I turn off my other lights and I want to be able to see to get to the restroom or a drink or something so I don't run into any walls (which happens frequently....). Plus I thought it would liven up the room some. smile.gif I sadly don't have too much cleaning time because I'm either doing something with school work or sleeping or something like that. tongue.gif However I have one more week left of school until finals so after that there's no excuses. wink.gif Luckily I'm the only one who sees my room so it doesn't matter except to me. smile.gif Of course even I have standards....

Ugh, sorry about not uploading the rest of the pictures. I hit 21 on Saturday and lost track of things.

Here are some more of the tv stand with my TV.

Spiderman with Korean subtitles.

American Psycho, very good movie.

That glare from the window is horrifying.

Problem solved.

QUOTE (white frames @ Feb 17 2008, 05:49 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>
After about a week of zenning out my place, here is the progress so far. There's still a handful of things I want to do on my list, but it's taking a while. Plus, I think change should happen organically, not all at once. That makes it feel artificial. For the most part, I just uncluttered everything and organized.

Here's the progress so far, with some before and after pics. Sorry for the random pic quality, I suck at color correction. Also there's an overload of fashion related content.

Before

Main. Books, dress form, pillows, boxes, mail..etc everywhere. Foreman family grill baby!

Couch and coffee table covered in books, clothes, cameras, scratching post, magazines..

Work table. Books, magazines, office stuff, hot sauce, empty coke zero bottles, napkins...

Shelf. Stacks and stacks of books unorganized, papers, muji clear boxes filled with junk.

Loft area. Paintings, frames, boxes of old clothes and junk, kitty in a box

a very messy closet. That mass of black on the right side are clothes piled up that should be hanging.

Zen it up

huge leather piece my friend Saba got me from when she interned at Levis. I'm going to be sewing new pillow covers soon for some color.

My kitties love sleeping on it.

You know you love my pink cat head litter box.

Tidier.

Better shot of the new clean stacking of the books. I still want to add little things to make it feel more homey. Trinkets, flowers..etc

Endless amounts of fashion and design related material

Paintings and frames.

The painting is based on a print by YSL for their Spring 08 collection. Mine is still in progress.

I actually framed pulls from magazines. They say "All Lanvin" "All Louis Vuitton" "Prada/Commes des Garcon/Lanvin"

Another magazine pull I framed for the kitchen. Really cute girls eating cake/cupcakes.

Look at all those empty hangers. I ended up donating almost half my wardrobe!

On top of the shelf, colonge, shoe polish, jewelery.

I moved my Muji drawers up on the loft and topped them with wood planks that I'm going to paint white. I still have to organize this area. I plan to put more photos, some plants. etc. My bedding area to the right is bare, I just got rid of my old sheets so I'm not going to show it yet.

more soon!
