I moved to Silicon Valley a few months back. After crying in front of the relocation/housing guy because of the quality/cost of housing, we finally settled on this place. It’s more than double what we were paying in Atlanta, minus 600 square feet, and... nevermind. It's time to move on and accept the cost of my present living situation. sad.gif

Anyway, I personally painted every single room to make up for the fact that I hated this place. It makes a huge difference, but I will never do it again because it’s not nearly as fun as I imagined.

If the furniture looks familiar, it's because pretty much everything is from IKEA. laugh.gif The best store, ever.

Ah, white frames uses Global knives! Nice.

Here is a collage of my room being as I still live at home and well... The apartment, believe me, looks nothing like this so isn't really worth taking pics of.

Petite_Mal, that is such a pretty basket! I almost want to get a cat so I have an excuse to try to make one like it.

Well, maybe I can just make one for magazines. tongue.gif

I should be living here already, but apparently the concrete strike here in Seattle made people lazier than normal. dry.gif I'm on the 7th floor of that middle tower - in about 6 weeks.

[img]http://www.weberthom...200Westlake.jpg[/

It's called the 2200 Westlake - 2 residential towers, a 5-star Pan Pacific Hotel, Whole Foods, and a European-style courtyard with retail. Best of all, condo residents use hotel amentities like any other guest!

Picture of the kitchen I'll be using to reheat my takeout.

Dude... the other day I was thinking how easy it would be to paint your place... or at least the back wall. I have all the stuff (ladder, blue tape, brushes, rollers, etc.) and now I also have the know-how. Pick out a color, and half an hour later, it'd be done.

you know, i don't think i can paint the back wall because IKEA furniture is not meant to be moved, ever... or at least... not the way i built it. but i may paint someday (not soon) so it'd be awesome if you could help!

The colors you chose are very warm and inviting. I'm thinking about this kind of thing cause I know if I get a place in NYC (or even NJ) I'll prolly wind up somewhere the size of a closet and I'll need all the tricks I can to maximize space and keep it inviting. On the other hand I can see it turning into some sort of ordeal, its not as if I like to paint blush.gif

So who out there knows about painting, ex. what color makes your space looks bigger?
peace

Light colors make the space look more open. Mirrors are your friend in cramped spaces =).
