not sure if i'm supposed to put this question here or not; there wasn't exactly a more appropriate seciton for this ^^;;; but anyway....i'm confused...there are so many different versions of DDR; i'm thinking about asking for one for christmas (i need one for PS1/PC) and there's like DDR in the groove, DDR konami, DDR extreme, etc. etc. etc.......if i buy one game, does that mean i have to get a corresponding dance pad? for example, if i buy a DDR konami game, does that mean i have to be konami dance pad? and if i wanted to buy a diff game later one (like DDR extreme or something) would i have to buy another dance pad, or do all dance pads work the same??????? ><;;; i'm so confused....plz help me ^^;;;;

All ddr pads are equal... they are just huge controllers. I just like the ones with the inch of foam in them. They last longer than the thin ones.
This belongs in games/anime section actually so ill answer your question quickly
The DDR mixes are all basically the same the only difference is the music. Look up the mix you like and yeah..
If you want it for pc, yo have the option for stepmania.
If you want it for ps1, I dont know... I like 5th mix but you'll need a modchip for taht and need to import.. so not as fun.

The best kind of pads are metal pads. Most of them are expensive but I remember one that's decently cheap, just not the name. You can get the Red Octane thick soft pad for a little less, they last longer than the thin ones but wear out still. I have one that I play weekly for 4 months and the back step is becoming less responsive.
Personally, I like DDRMax2 the best. It's not visually impressive but difficulty is evenly spread out and has a better selection of songs (IMO). DDRExtreme2 is also good, the difficulty is a little jumpy going from one difficulty to another but overall good. It has a wider range of music compared to Max2.
