my longhorns let me down again today....there goes 5 years of BLABBIN RIGHTS down the drain.
i didn't watch the game due to work but i heard all about it and i don't even want to bother with the "highlights" of the game since i doubt there were any.
so, if anyone would like to fill me in on how my team just threw out any chance at even going to Big 12 Championship or even a bowl.....feel free lol.
:::::crawls into darkhole::::::
Ag here...and i cant believe how bad this game was...for ya'll atleast...colt a freaking whiner....that hit by bennet was good too...

AHHHH HOLIDAY BOWL (GO CAL!...damn. OR LONGHORNS! ugggh which to choose..) OR ROSE BOWL (muahah GO MICHIGAAAN)!?!?!?? SOOO FLIIPPING excited.
Texas A&M are the Aggies....not the Longhorns. lol

Yea, I can't believe how bad that game was either. DISAPPOINTING! I heard A&M coach apologized to big Mack Brown and Colt for whatever happened at the game...again b/c I didn't watch it and refused to see any "highlights" I am clueless.
BUT how about the Alamo Bowl? hahahha man, I love being a Longhorn, but this has been one DISASTROUS season. FIRST, Ohio State then Kansas State AND then 5 years of mini cooper talking rights flushed down the drain with our loss to A&M. ALAMO BOWL? man, last year's BCS CHAMPS are going to this years Alamo Bowl??? It's a sad way to end this football season.
BUT I do have to say, regrettably, Ohio State was awesome this season.

Always keep the faith.

who are the longhorns playing in the alamo bowl?
edit:
the first hit on colt was by kellen heard, a def back. when colt threw and int, mark dodge caught the ball and colt started walkinf off the field, WHILE undoing his chin starp....any smart ball player knows that you dont pulll it off in the field and heard DID NOT see get dodge get tackled and hit mccoy on theblock...he got ejected out of the game right then and there...
the hit that took colt down, if yo see the reply, there was no way in h-e double hockey stick that he(michael bennet) could have stopped himself....

The BCS title game isn't about who deserves it more; it is about who is the two best teams in the country.
I disagree. The BCS title game is definitely more about who deserves it more than who the two best teams are. Otherwise Ohio State would have been champs in 1998 and USC in 2002. Heck the Trojans would also have been consensus national champions in 2003.

if only NCAA 1-A followed their counterparts of 1-AA, 2, and 3 and used the playoff system.

Oh boy another playoff fanatic. I keep hearing people say there should be a playoff but never heard of one that actually works.
1 vs. 4
2 vs 3,
winners play for Championship game.
you can keep all the bowls...just add an extra game for the winners.

using the same system we have now....keeps everyone happy...BCS people...playoff people.
i don't here too many people bitchin about who is the number 4 team in the country.
another scenario would be to have all 8 BCS teams in a playoff.

Make up your mind. Is it 4 or 8? Both won't work though.
If it's 4, then an undefeated Boise State will complain since a 2 loss LSU team will go to the playoffs and they won't. Also is it fair to have a two loss team on the same boat as unbeaten and #1 ranked Ohio State?
We aren't arguing who's 4 because it's only 2 right now. If it's 4 we'll fight about who's 4. If it's 8 we will fight about who's 8. And so on. So it isn't better. Worse if you ask me because we'lll be arguing about more teams than just 2.
And an 8 team playoff is WAYYYYYYYYY too long. The finalists will have to play THREE postseason games. It interferes with the NFL playoffs, second semester and etc.

how is it worse? because people will complain? not any worse than it is now, in fact...the only people that don't want a playoff system are the college presidents (due to financial reasons).
playoffs are inevitable in NCAA Division 1-A football. the BCS and computers may still be around to determine the playoff teams, but I know a playoff is in store in the future.

Perhaps there could be a NFL like playoff format with 12 teams, with the 11 conference champions, and 1 at-large team. The top 4 teams get a bye, while the other 8 play in the first round. BCS rankings could be used to determine who gets the byes, and who gets the at-large. Yeah, there would be still be controversy as to who gets the at-large, but at the very least every conference has a chance.
I don't know if that's feasible at all, but I would have to think somewhere down the road, we will see a D-1A playoff in some form or another.

An eight team playoff would be nice, but a team like Boise State would be left out. Currently with the top two, we argue over who deserves that #2 spot, but I would imagine people could be debating as to who deserves the eighth seed should there be a playoff.

hmm... i'd support an 8 team playoff... 6 from the BCS conference champions, and 2 from the other conferences.

1. Ohio State 2. Florida 3. Michigan 4. LSU 5. USC 6. Louisville 7. Wisconsin 8. Boise State
if anything, the debate would be between boise and auburn.
if anything, the extra game they added this year to everyone's schedule sucked. only ohio state and a handful of other schoos actually played a real team. the rest of the teams just added powderpuff teams for income, standings etc. also..by allowing wins over 1-AA schools go towards bowl eligibility is crap.
if they would have not added an extra game to the regular season, they could easily have a playoff. even with it added, they can still have a playoff.

how would Boise State be left out? they are number 8 in the BCS.

You're right, Boise St. is number 8. For some reason I thought they were 12th
Anyhow, I agree that extra game just allowed most teams to play weaker teams who just wanted the payoff. Maybe down the line when the BCS contract is up they can go back and revise this extra game and make it a playoff game instead.

I think the refs in the game were going overboard with everything they were calling, especially the unsportsmanlike conduct against Bess after his TD catch. I mean he's high-fiving the fans, not throwing feces at Arizona State chanting "na na na naaa" or something.
Great win for Hawaii too. I have a question. Brennan or Chang?
