Dir en grey - Mushi and Zakuro (they're even more sad when performed live. Gut-wrenchingly sad songs with depressing lyrics.)
X-Japan - Tears (speaks for itself really)
X-Japan - Without You (piano piece. Obviously sad if you know why.)
X-Japan - Crucify My Love
Gazette - Cassis (one of my favourite Gazette songs too. So beautiful.)
Eric Clapton - Tears in Heaven (written out of grief when his four-year-old son fell out of a window to his death)

The saddest song that I have ever heard would be "Strangefruit" sung by Nina Simone.
