I'm not very technologically savvy, and I can't figure this out for the life of me.

I recently bought the Creative Zen Vision:M, and I don't know how to work it. I installed the programs that came with it onto my laptop and then tried charging it, but it doesn't seem to charge. I connect it to my computer with the cable, and the top of the player blinks blue, but the screen stays black. If I leave it like that it just gets really hot.

What am I doing wrong? Or is the player faulty?

Is your computer on? It does sound like its charging, they do get warm while charging and the player should be blinking or fading in and out.

Actually, its a Creative so read the manual.
My Zen micro is a pain in the butt to charge with the computer off. (my usb is always on so my computer can be off and I could charge an Ipod or whatever)

I would have to put the player in lock, plug in usb, unlock, lock and it charges. I think thats how it goes. Well... im not sure usually takes me about 5 minutes to get it charging so I would just turn on my computer to make it start charging then turn it off to let it finish off.

i have the same player as you, Jina!
at first when i got mine, it did the same thing. it didn't turn on, it didn't seem to charge, not much action anywhere
so i took it back to the store and got a new one and that worked fine.

read the manual, follow its steps but if nothing happens, just get a new one because the one you got might be faulty. =)
