ok. Here's my story. I'm not sure when, but it's like 4 to 5 days ago. My homepage suddenly became to this website www.sha123.com. It used to be about:blank . so i thought it was just a random thing. So i changed it back. But everytime when i on the comp to access to the internet, the sha123.com site kept popping out (as my homepage). and now not only that, some chinese sites kept popping up when i use IE.
But yea. before all that sha123 sites pop up, my IE has this chinese toolbar. I'm positive i didn't set it as my toolbar.
Is this virus? Cos i heard from my friends that this maybe got to do with the trojan/trogen etc virus?
Please help me?
What should i do? besides reformating my comp? because
1. My dad will kill me
2. it'll cost me some money
3. I have loads of files/programs in my comp

Have you tried removing the toolbar to see if its caused by it?
I think its more like adware thats changing your homepage. Try some adaware programs such as Webroot Spy Sweeper, Lavasoft Adaware, Spybot Search & Destroy, etc.

OsiX: oo really? I'm gonna try out on that ^^ thanks!
fionahh: that's the exact virus that my frind told me. She said hers got stuck at my123. and this is the new virus that was spreading on the 11th nov.. because mine was SHA123, i was hoping it's not the virus.

I agree with OsiX.
It's not a virus issue, but most likely a spyware infection.
