everytime i try do something that makes sound, for example: listening to music or that little 'ding' on AIM, my computer just makes a weird beep sound and nothing happens.

when i try to listen to music on winamp, i get this error message:

anyone know what's wrong and how i can fix it?
it's kinda depressing not having music.

Reinstall the drivers for your sound card.

But I don't know what sound card I have.

You might have a sound card built-in to your motherboard or a seperate PCI sound card.

uhmm..soo how do i do that? o_o
i looked through all the drivers i had..and i didn't see one about a sound card.
i'm not too bright with computers..>_<
