ok so i just lost my sharp903sh today through my stupidity
and now i'm planning to get the sharp904 because i really like the features for this phone
and i do know that the uk version can be unlocked

but does anyone know if the japanese one can be unlocked yet???

The 904SH is still locked and i don't think anyone knows when it's gonna be unlocked. People have been speculating that the unlock will come soon but it's been months ! I might the white Softbank one when the unlock comes out

yea the 904's still unlockable and people are becoming more and more hopeless about it.

yeah i dropped it somewhere which is really ridiculous because its a huge phone and easily noticeable if dropped

...do you think its smart to buy one locked to vodafone japan right now?
its really tempting because it's ALOT cheaper to get one now and wait for the unlock(if and when it comes)

sharp didn't even release a sharp 904 version, there's ONLY a sharp 903 uk version. maybe in time it'll take time to unlock the 904, but i guess it depends how cheap you can get it for because right now, it's just a pretty paperweight. hope you have a backup phone though.

uggh i just hope they come out with the unlock already since it does support gsm unlike the 905 and 910-_-

and i do have another phone a really heaty looking panasonic phone

well i'd still be able to use the phone as a camera and a media player in the meantime=/

Unforunately I'm trying to sell my 904sh now... I can it took the 903sh nearly a year to be unlocked but with the n95 coming out and other phones coming out, I think its time for me to give up. But then again I only bought this phone for $375.

softbank is the company that bought vodafone jp. all the voda phones (including the sharp ones) will be branded softbank now.

i think the best way is to tell someone to buy it from Hong Kong ... if you are not in Toronto, Pacific Mall would have been the next best place to buy GSM phones.. personally though, i think the Sharp 903sh has better features than the 904sh.. because it has Mp3 ringtones and the sound is just so much better! the rest of the sharp phones are MMF format (polyphonic) unless if you update the software it can also be M4Apeg something like that...

That's another reason why they discontinued the production of the 903sh.. because it's just that good T_T i hope i can find a new one before summer starts... i have the 804sh right now, but 903 has been my first phone i wanted... the 905sh is SO NICE but since it's sharp is not vodaphone anymore, it will only be in Japan =(

well yeah i was looking to get ANOTHER sharp903 but its so friggin expensive that it breaks my heart and it'd also break my bank account
