Vienna Teng is one of the most amazing singers and songwriters I've ever encountered in my life. She has 3 albums up to date, and all of her songs are classics. It's hard to list out some favorites, because ALL of them are so good
Sadly she's not that popular because she's not mainstream, but I'm glad she's gaining more and more audiences and fans at her shows.

Ooo, me too! She's my favorite artist.
I discovered her music through my cousin, and have seen her perform live 4 times thusfar. She's an amazing live performer. She's also a great storyteller -- her deadpanning are spot-on.
I actually like the fact that she isn't so popular yet. She is enjoying success and a loyal fanbase, yet still able to maintain a certain intimacy with her music and fans. I would really recommend you all to see her live as soon as you can, when she is still performing at small venues.
And yup, I have all 3 of her albums. I wish I had the original release of Waking Hour though, prior to her signing with Virt. DTTN is a little different from her first two albums. It's more "moody" as I call it and may take a few listens to get used to her new style. "Blue Caravan" is hauntingly beautiful. Plus, her albums make great gifts for people. Heheh.

I would love to visit her performance someday. I encountered her from PBS, she is quite charming and softly humorous. I even enjoyed listening to Green Island Serenade, especially when her boss says she has an American accent when she sings in Mandarin.

Is anyone else obsessed with listening to "Whatever You Want"??? I can't go a day through without listening to that song at least 20 times

Did anyone get her 3rd CD, Dreaming Through the Noise yet?
I got it the day before yesterday. It is very distinct--as soon as you hear it, you'll know it's from a different time than her two previous albums. I'll write more about it when I have time to sit down and analyze each song individually.
