Which is better? I've seen HYD but meteor garden seems way too long for me.

I read the manga first, then watched Hana Yori Dango, then watched Meteor Garden.

My opinion, if you watched HYD first, you will find Meteor Garden really slow. If you like every bit of the manga (details), then you will love MG, since they don't leave out anything.

I perfer HANA YORI DANGO. Good actors/actresses, good music, good interpretation of the manga.
I love Meteor Garden too, diferent interpretation. I guess because I watched MG couple years after it came out, the fashion etc wasn't up-to-date lol. HYD was more attractive, in terms of clothing, setting (JAPAN) and etc.

i like both of them! i havent read the manga yet but i find that the japanese version is a lot funnier and is really KAWAII! while the taiwan version is more emotional and believable

I love both~! ;__; Well, I watched MG after HYD but I still liked the story and everything. It's different and even though its a couple years old, it's enjoyable if you don't mind the fact that its a bit outdated when it comes to clothes and stuff. Both dramas I think are enjoyable on different levels. I've watched MG like at least 5 times if you can believe it...lol..and HYD about 3..haha..@_@. MG is very 'drama' like but it does have many funny moments as well..also romance-wise and HYD is more light-hearted and funny. It gets the gist of the story while MG will go deeper. When I watched MG the way the clothes and stuff look first threw me off, but as I continued to watch I fell in love with it..and for Domyoji(i forget how to spell) and Daoming Shi, to me it never felt like the actor really changed as much..both were the same dorks to me..haha..the same with Rui and Lei characters. Give MG a chance! ^^ tho i heard you should stay away from MG2..lol

i watched MG because it came out before HYD. there is a lot more detail in the latter and i got really hooked on it. lol. HYD is a more condensed version but the cast looks better in comparison haha.

i can't choose. i like both ^^;;

Hana Yori Dango.. Better acting, better sets, better script, better plot, better clothing...
Even though it was shorter, I felt it captured the essence of the manga a lot better.

MG was draggy... if you're going to venture into MG, just don't watch Part II.

I like Hana Yori Dango a whole lot better than Meteor Garden. The casts are better looking and their acting seem more real to me. The way the guys in Meteor Garden act is soo fake, it annoys me. >_<

personally i like details, so i prefer reading books rather than watchin movies. but MG in my opinion was just too much.

it has to be MG... taiwanese version made hdy what it was... the japanese didnt' even considered doing this series until the MG becamse so popular in asia..

Meteor Garden! But I think it's partially due to the fact that I watched Meteor Garden first, & I totally fell in love with it.

My choice is Meteor Garden, BUT ONLY the first one. I still try so hard to forget the existence of the so-called piece of garbage sequel. Grrrr....

To tell you the truth, I like both MG1 and HYD...because they are good in their own unique ways!

hana yori dango overall but meteor garden I thought (only the first one though) had a better storyline because it was longer. hana yori dango was way too short, even if they are having a 2nd one.
