Girls waterpolo, they are CRAZY!!! They have no rules, and once they go into the water,u'll get hurt so bad.. The guys waterpolo team just tries to get the ball into the net. If you don't believe me, you have a really bad waterpolo team.
they sound vicioussssss my goodness!!
I'll have to add equestrian polo as well, considering you have to maneuver your horse and try to hit that ball from, like, 6 feet up
and sports like gymnastics and figure skating...Some may say that its not as physically brutal as football, but to compete at a wold level is crazzzzy. Its something you have to develop over years and years of experience. Also, you can't rely on physical ability alone to be the best...you have to be able to dance and be graceful, which is something not everyone can learn. Then there's the fact that you have to be aware of every single thing your body does; where you place you arms and legs, how you point your toes and fingers...and if you don't the results can be horrible. (that one chinese girl in the olympics who broke her neck after a fall on the balance beam)
thats my opinion at least.....but most guys are very ready and willing to call sports like gymnastics pansy sports

golf requires techniques & patience
swimming requires alot techniques and stamina
martial arts depends on your body build and ......
water polo, boxing, hockey, rugby - alot of effort as well
not forgeting field events such as high jump, triple jump etcs, its only a jump and that needs 10 years effort in olympic.
i think each sport is unique and i respect all of them.

it involves alot more talent, skill, and strategy than jus trying to punch the other guy. you try throwing punches an recieving punches 3minutes a round.
i think espn did an article on something like this as well maybe a year ago. they also ranked boxing as the #1 most difficult sprot

Or a hockey goaltender. Apparently Giguere (netminder for the Sharks) loses 10 pounds of bodyweight in water PER GAME in regulation. That's obviously well above average (which is about 2-5lb's per game). During overtime games in playoffs, he had IV needles taped down during his time in net, then they'd wire him up to the drip during intermissions. Hardcore. Then there's all the 100mph+ pucks flying at you (around 10 per game) and sliding around, doing splits and basically standing on your head to stop a hard piece of rubber that's less that 3" wide from getting into a net behind you. That's respect.
