i'm guessing its because the majority of people who use internet use internet explorer
and like everyone else said, be careful what sites you go to and what you download =D

Maybe because Microsoft created Interne Explorer, that's why it's the common browser you get when you purchase your computer.

Not sure.

Mozilla owns all anyway. :3

It's more then likely the sites you visit. I got a trojan horse virus from myspace when I was on firefox. Also turn on the popup blocker on IE I have it on and I haven't had a single pop-up except for the sites that i've allowed to have pop-ups on.

I don't know if that helps you any or not, but IE is one of the most used web browers too.

90% of people use internet explorer.
10% uses other stuff (Firefox, opera.....etc).
So if you are virus you would go to internet explorer, since thats where most of the people are.

Exactly. If you're a crazy computer moron who enjoys destroying others' computers through the internet the best way to create havoc is targeting the thing most people use. I wouldn't be surprised if firefox began getting more viruses if popularity meets number of IE users.
Just like why windows get more virus attacks than macs. It doesn't necessary prove who has better security, only who gets more people trying to attack them. More morons attacking = more chances of breaking.

^Yeah, I agree. Firefox is one of the best web browsers out to date. You could also you a browser called, "Maxthon." It's similar to internet explorer except safer and better.

If your using a Mac, I recommend using Camino. It doesn't have all the fancy apps like Firefox or Safari has, but it runs smoothly and is just great all around.

0_o I don't get any pop ups... I dunno. I try to keep my laptop clean all the time, but still I've had it for a year and it still hasn't gotten any spyware crap, but I DO clean my comp for stuff; you know virus scanner and spyware scanner. and I download songs and perfs and stuff like crazy. meh try formatting your comp (back up the files you need like multimedia stuff) then put an anti-virus and anti-spyware on it ASAP.
After that, every once and awhile if you feel the need to, scan it for crap and you'll be surprised ^^; anyway just feel ike contributing, happy computing xD

P.S I use IE7 nao, it's pretty cool. I'm tired of Mozilla :3
