I for one don't think make up is necessary..
A little foundation to hide pimples and make the face look smoother is alright.
But too much eye liner, mascara and everything else can be scary.
Its okay to put a lot of make up just for the sake of taking professional photographs and having that "effect".

But going out with too much make up...

Celebrities put too much make up and only make people admire them, but when they dont have make up on... blink.gif

Take a look at this crazy.gif (images from google)

http://www.worth1000.com/entries/259000/259249NSvR_w.jpg

http://www.armyofmom.com/makeup.jpg

http://www.gothic.ru/subculture/make-up1_s.jpg

^I know that some of the pictures above are supposed to be "professional" pictures aka modelling/catwalk, but I'm showing them to give examples of people who DO go out like that with THAT kind of make up. mellow.gif

Nt everyone will go out like this, but some do (minority). AND THATS HELL SCARY.
Also, make up isn't good for your skin! (majority)

I THINK PEOPLE HAVE MISTAKEN WHT IM TRYING TO SAY.
I'm not tryna say those people who put make up as a form of art/professional look. (I'VE BOLD IT)
I'm talking abt those people who put too much make up and dont put it properly when they GO OUT sleep.gif
Sometimes it can get scary.

And... I do not admire Linsday Lohan huh.gif

*Its ok to have another constructive side on this topic, but pls don't go overboard.
ITS A FRIENDLY DISCUSSION~

for some people make-up is necessary, you'd be surprised how different they look without it
(*coff* eva longoria)

for others, they only need make-up to highlight their features.
that's what make-up is originally intended for, but nowadays make-up is like another mask...

Well, technically, most things aren't necessary. For example, new clothes, shoes, video games, computers, iPods, and etc. Make up is just another type in the "want" category. People want things all the time, it's just natural! sleep.gif

some people do use too much makeup...but hey, if it boosts your confidence and makes you feel better about yourself, I don't really see a problem with it

this looks like it was for a fashion show, btw
dramatic theatrical makeup is needed to pull together drastic styles

it's not really necessary, but if it's for like a fashion show or something, i guess it's okay. just as long as they don't wear too much make up constantly.

and isn't your avatar Alexis Bleidel (sp?) it looks like her. esp the baby blue eyes.

I think a lot of girls look extremely pretty natural and just kill themselves when they pack their faces with make-up. However, since so many girls nowaday wear make-up, you get used to seeing their faces covered in make-up. Plus, a lot of girls make themselves look like clowns since they don't know how to apply it right or they apply way too much.

I don't think it's necessary. It's a waste of time and money, but that's just me. x]

I don't think it's necessary, but a little can help =D I agree with you on the observation that sometimes too much makeup looks scary.

You act like make-up is bad. It's not if you know how to work it. Besides, there's a lot of things that are unnecessary, but people want to look good and express a certain style.

Make-up is similar to clothes: It helps create the look and style the person is going for. The last two pictures you've post were more artistic approach to make-up. It not messy or clown-like and neither one is that scary.

I think you need to widen your horizon.

Well a lot of thing are unnecessary but people still use them because it makes them happy. I don't consider make-up a bad thing, if it makes the perso feel better about themselves and it's not harming anyone else then it shouldn't be a problem. I'm one of those people who loves their eye make-up simply because without it I feel naked. ><

I don't think it's necessary for casual scenes, but I guess people put it one to feel good about themselves. There's nothing wrong with that.
Someday it'll stop hurting so much....

last year i used to be really natural, i didnt put on any makeup.
but since i have alota acne scars, i use concealer and foundation to cover them up.
i look sick without eyeliner on
