Who is "they?" From my knowledge, Qinghua is still the uncontested #1 in Beijing.

QingHua is undoubtedly the best in Beijing but Beijing University is quite difficult to get into as well. To be honest, getting into a great Chinese college is very, very, very difficult but graduating from one once you are in is not so difficult.

That's true..
but i think it's still really competitive in universities like Beijing and QingHua, even after getting in

For Chinese universities in general, I hear that it's brutal to get in, but definitely not as brutal once you're in school. Kind of like how in the U.S., it's pretty difficult to get into Harvard, but the classes aren't as difficult once you get in. (Challenging, but not difficult. I took two classes under Harvard professors over the summer once to find this out). Though I'd imagine the scale is a bit different for Chinese universities. They really have high standards. I asked my travel guide to take me to Peking University over the summer, and she (a fresh graduate from another university in Beijing) was pretty intimidated by all the students when we explored the campus. She said "Everyone here are considered gods by us."

Not really, some times international students don't have the meet the same standards as home grown students. Get into contact with someone over there that deals with international students and find out your answers.

The students there are really smart...but you may not need to reach their standards since you'd be an international student if you do go. But generally it's:

1. Qing Hua (Qing Hua University)
2. Bei Da (Beijing University)
3. Zhe Da (Zhe Jiang University)

that are the top 3 in China. I guess you could try...but it'll be really fun living in BeiJing though for sure.
