American rap sucks
it's always about sex, money, drugs, violence, and all the bad influence stuff
but Asian rap is not about that stuff, it's actually more meaningful

exactly what i'm talking about.

but then i just REALLY hate rap in general.
what the hell are they talking about.
i have to slow it down to actually understand. lmao.

i like both kinds theyre good in different ways i guess

i think american rap is the one where you can dance in club? haha and its like hardcore?
not all rap artists talk about sex, girls, money etc....
ever heard of Tupac? hes like a legend...and not all he talk about is sex...
he raps about poverty...and all the crap he been through in his life....

while asian rap is more pop-ish... its sweet? the one where u can imagine you and your girlfriends singing along too..
but in a way i guess asian rap kind of copied america when they start rapping in english >.< broken english..aha i never undestand a word they say when they rap in english >.<

i guess theyre both good?

American rap = vulgar
Asian rap = too fast for me to catch

Yeah basically american rap's full of f-s and whatnot . As for Asian rap . Pfttt , I'm too slow . I can't catch a single thing they are saying . Usually I'm just listening to the song , not trying to understand them . LOL .

there is so much more than what is mainstream and what people hear. there is some real content out there and some real talented emcee's out there.
the stupid lyrics about cars, money and what not, i agree its corny. and thats why i dislike rap and rap music, it makes hip hop look bad. even if there are dope lyricists and emcee's out there people think more about the mainstream rap, and think they are doing the same thing. when they are not. can you say talib kweli, nas, little brother, krs one are doing the same thing as 50 cent and all the southern nonsense? hell no.
korea is getting much better with their music, in the past rappers didn't even rhyme, they just said mini cooper. at least now they rhyme.

I know nothing about rap but I personally just find American rap to be very repetitive and just plain old "already done". It's like it always the same thing in their raps and the videos, but it gets catchy though....but hearing about repect, money, power and blah blah blah all get kinda boring after awhile.

Asian Rap..I cannot understand them, but it sounds nice LOL.

Asian Rap tends to have a lot of love songs imo opinion, and its not my style i cant really feel what there saying, olny asian rappers i can really feel is MC sniper.
On the other hand im a big Fan of Dead Prez and the whole RBG camp, i tend to like dark grimey hip-hop.
May God have mercy upon my enemies, because i wont.

I think American rap is a lot better. Even though the videos can be a bit nasty and some of the themes are repetative (although the repetative thing is the same for Asian rap). It's still a lot better.

Asian rap is kind of a joke to me sometimes . I mean, in every pop song by every little teeny bopper group there's always an unnecessary rap verse added in there or there's "the rapper", (which to me means they weren't good enough singers and this was the only thing they could find for them to do) they're a lot of times not very good. Don't get me wrong, the actual rap artists can be good. Overall, I just think American rap is better

I like Asian rap more. Idk. It appeals to me more. Even if they rap love songs, it's still appealing for me coz they put sense in music. But that depends on the artist.

I get the feeling that I'm with wannabe hiphoppers whenever I hear American rap, so I don't really listen to it. But I used to like Eminem and Linkin Park a bit when I was in the sixth grade. And sometimes American rap sounds like nonsense to me. Again, depends who's singing. No offense.

Criticism does not equal bashing.

as far as american rap

If you take it to back in the day to BDP (Boogie Down Productions) , Jungle Brothers, Public Enemy , and other culturally and politcally geared rap that was cool and they talked about stuff that was geared toward the afr-amrcn community and politcal issues

rap here in amercican has escalated into something I don't want listen too. I hate it actually. I want to listen to asian rap because I have heard Tablo speak about things so I am interested just never listened
WHAT CAN I SAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I am addicted to Bokko dancing

I don't want to generalize but a lot of the big rappers out there is the US, excluding eminem(now) and kanye and some others
but all i hear in the lyrics are about money, sex, drugs, and stuff like that.
sure it's real life stuff, but it gets to repetive, and sometimes, the beats almost sound the same.
sometimes, the lyrics are really bad and there's only good music

Personally, I like asian rap because it's more diverse, and it's not always about the same thing.
but i respect american rap artists, because they do what they have to do, but i just wished they came up with something to wow us with.

epik high is awesome. tablo is like no other. he's smart, and he went to standford, but in the end, he chose his music, with his parents against it.
how many american artist do you know like that?
almost none

but that's just my opinion

in the end, everyone else has something different to say

well, there's a lot of different ways of looking at it. i know more american rap, btu i dont like it as much. a lot of the rap now is really not very good, like i liked some eminem and i still listen to linkin park, but most of it is so repetitive and arrogant. some rappers do talk about real issues in american rap, but you dont find that much anymore.
i do like epik high a lot, abd i dont mind the rappers they have in boybands and stuff, but its not like serious rap. its more like something added to the song.
though rap is just a kind of music, its different in asia than in america, and by a lot. maybe it did some from america, but that doesnt mean its better there.
and in my opinion, id rather hear asian rap, even if it is not as real or whatever. its less graphic and the songs overall are better, i think.

LOVE out LOUD.

I feel American rap's losing its original touch, whereas Asian rap's bringing more choices.
For example, Epik High's rapping is <33333333333333333333333333333333 *fangirl moment*
Also because they rap about things that make you wonder and think. Their songs are very deep.
