how many ppl have their own computer at college??
i know some girl who didnt have her own computer during frosh year and had to use the library all the time. but i was surprised because everyone i know has their own computer~ i would seriously hate to have to go to the library or computer center thing everytime i need a computer

i think it depends on what your major is. for business students at my college it's like a necessity. I can't imagine what it'd be like to not have a laptop. i guess it's not really necessary to have your own if you're in some other major. but yea i carry my laptop with me everywhere.

there were several girls on my floor last year who didn`t have their own computers. it seemed like such a hassle because they had to keep going back and forth to the comp lab to get anything done~~

my laptop, on the other hand, pretty much goes everywhere with me xP

Laptop/No Laptop doesn't matter that much in my opinion. I have one now, but when I didn't (during the first couple months), it didn't matter since computers (whether in the library/commons/express ones) are just so abundant.

Some might argue that laptops might even distract you from getting actual work done, however, if you actually were using your laptop for real work then its worth it. If your just going to MSN/Youtube etc. your just wasting $ and time.

I have my own computer now, but I didn't my first year at college so I had to use the library computer. I also have a computer at work so I do a lot of school work (and come on Soompi ) while I'm at work.

I have a desktop, at home since I commute. Essential for writing papers, and maybe research, but that's about it. I'm an English Major. If I didn't love the internet and my computer so much, I think I can survive with going to the lab to type up my papers...

I hate touching door knobs, door handles and keyboards.

I remember I was at a computer lab at school and I looked at the keyboard and it was disgusting. The girl sitting next to me sneezed right into her keyboard and she didn't even wipe it off. I mean, a direct sneeze and all her boogers got onto the keyboard and monitor. I was ready to puke.

Oh yea and to answer the question, yes I do own my own computer.

I have a laptop; it was one of the first things my parents bought me when preparing what to bring to university last year lol.. I bought my own laser printer this year; shared a regular inkjet last year with my roomie.

I'm doing mass comm, I need a computer to to video editing, graphic stuff and complete my assignments. I have my trusty laptop to do everything right now. I have my own laserjet printer. For the next video assignment, I'm buying a desktop and a color printer. Computer is everything when it comes to college, for me at least. ^^

yep..i have a pc and a laptop...laptop's busted right now though i think it's pretty useful coz i do most of my papers at home..the library's computers get filled easily...
