I haven't used an mp3 player for about a year. (I exchanged my YP-T7 for a digicam). So I was wondering if I should get a new mp3 player or use my cellphone...

I have the Verizon version of Chocolate... So obviously, I need to get the music essentials kit ($30) and storage (2GB = $100)... And I probably need to buy other stuff too, like better earphones or something.

The problem is that the Chocolate's battery life kinda sucks. So if I were to listen to music, the battery life would be even worse, right? And I'm not fond of the headset adapter you need to use to connect your earphones. It just... sticks out and looks ugly.

So... I was thinking about getting the YP-T9... 2GB is $130, which is the same if I were to buy all that crap for my phone.

Obvious choice would be to get an mp3 player, right?

If you buy the music essentials kit, it comes with earphones that plugs into your phone. I think it's better to get an mp3 player because the mp3 player in a phone just can't match to an mp3 player [at least not yet; for example I dislike how phones can only read English so if your song or artist is in another language it comes out as squares or whatnot] but if you're the type who likes things simple and neat [as in not carrying lots of things] then just stick with your chocolate. You can significantly increase the battery life of your chocolate by turning off the ev-do network. Just press 0 after menu and then the network options will come out.

Sony Ericsson's walkman phones are one of the best phone/mp3 player combos out there. They do have like 20 hours of playback, or something like that, if you only use the mp3 player, depending on the model.

I think you should just buy a Nano or something similar to it.

I don't really trust cellphones that specialize as being mp3 players as well. I have a Samsung E900, which is basically a better version of the Chocolate and I still lug around my oldfart 3rd gen 20 gig iPod.

buy a mp3 player haha! i have the LG version of the chocolate and the battery life is ATROCIOUS...or mebbe its just because LGs are known for crap battery life.....if i played mp3s on my phone it would die in about 10 minutes i think hahahaha...

the money you use for the cell phone will be about as much as a new mp3 player.. plus... just leave your phone for calls
