I just got a new monitor and was setting it up dual screen and different wallpapers for each monitor. Before the icons on desktop was fine, but now they look like this:

No, I'm not highlighting them.

Instead of it being gray I want it clear. I used to know how to change it but I forgot. ><

Thanks.

Control Panel / System / Advanced / Performance Tab / Settings Button and put a checkmark in: Use Drop Shadows for Icon Labels on the Desktop

It worked for me.

Tried both, didn't work. I already tried unlocking web items on desktop, didn't work. Then I went through control panel and in the end, all of the items were check marked.

Any other ideas?

It also depends on what format your background is. Is it .png? If it is just change it to jpg

I have my Visual Effects set up to Custom with only "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" selected. Not sure if that will make a difference for you.
