I recently.. actually today, i got a new ipod the black one, 4G. But then my brother comes home and told me i got the wrong one..because i wanted the second generation one..but i got the black one which is the older version. I started to get pissed at my self. Now i have an even bigger problem. I can't download music onto the ipod! The manual says that if i plug the USB into the comp. an itunes thing will automatically popup.. but it's not happening. So i tried manually to import the songs.. but they just won't show up on the ipod. I NEED HELP! Plus.. whenever i connect it to the computer.. it keeps on saying "Do Not Disconnect" and won't go away until i turn the comp off. the charging screen won't even show up. I think there's something wrong with it.. or i screwed it up somehow. T_T Help...please...anyone???T_T

hmm.. do you have your itunes on? if it doesn't pop up then you'll have to manually click it..
i have the white one 4gb.. there shouldn't be a difference with the second generation ones only that there are more songs you can store and different colors. if the songs wont import, then you'll have to convert the file type into aac format or something. the "do not disconnect" generally should go away within a couple of minutes.. but if that doesn't work than manually eject the ipod. next to your ipod name, there should be a triangle.. click that and your ipod is ejected. if you haven't changed your ipod name then it should be (your name's) ipod.

i don't think there is anything wrong with it..go to the apple website and download iTunes. and turn on the iTunes manually (as in double click and etc..) i got the new nano and the iTunes is suppose to come up automatically but it doesn't so i just open it myself..and the charge screen only comes on after you "eject" your nano..and you can eject from iTunes but i just take it out even without ejecting it and there's nothing wrong with it...

yea as others have said there's nothing wrong with your ipod. you just have to download itunes. the charge screen only comes on if you eject the ipod and turn it off. otherwise it will just charge while the ipod is on. the ipod automatically charges as soon as you plug it into your computer.
