I'm a junior in highschool, and of course, this is the year with all those crazy tests and extracurricular activities to worry about. My parents have been nagging me to study for my SATs everyday. However, the problem is, I don't know how to study for them. Any tips on how to study so I can get into UC Davis at the very least (this is what my parents expect of me. I live in California, by the way.) Anyway guys, thanks for your help in advance. I TRUELY appreciate it.

my friends all took the kaplan sat course and it didn't do crap doo doo for them. i'm not sure about the other courses out there but i think you should go out and get one of those giant sat books from borders like barons. i didn't study at all for my sats. i guess if i studied for them or at least slept the night before instead of hanging out i might have gotten a better score but oh well i got into my school of choice so i'm happy. good luck.

hmm, well I can't really tell you, because I honestly haven't ever studied for the sat 1's. but my friend tells me he just takes a load of practice tests and goes over his answers. he improved 200 pts. damn him. we got the same score the first time without studying (1850). then later he studied, and I didn't. he improved 200 pts, and I didn't. LOL

what i do is just take an english/critical reading class...
SAT math only has algebra, geometry, and a little bit of algebra ii so all you really need is to practice from a book (princeton review, collegeboard, etc..)..if you practice enough, all the problems seem the same after a while and it gets really easy.
oh and another thing is read classic books. you can use them as examples in your essay and you can learn vocab from them...like i use "The Scarlet Letter" and "Great Gatsby" for like, every topic.

Buy Sat Test Prep books assuming you already know the stuff you're getting tested on
“One always dies too soon - or too late. And yet one's whole life is complete at that moment, with a line drawn neatly under it, ready for the summing up. You are - your life, and nothing else.”

30 minutes everyday =) buy a review book, i used the 11 practice tests by princeton review, and if you're familiar with the test a little already, do a section (from the test) every week day. or at least shoot for at least 3 times a weekday. then, maybe like on every other weekend, prep yourself by taking a whole, actual test. on the weekdays, you could replace the usual practice sections with reviewing what you did wrong, etc.
keep this up and by the time you take your sats, you'll do excelleennt.
hope this helps =)
