We just got ours today (took it on the 21st)
Holy cow. =|. I did so badly T_______________T;
Last year.. I would say I did well as a sophomore.. But. This year I did lamely as a junior >|.
LOL Its too bad of a score to say what it is; but yeah. I got the exact same thing.
well not the same scores in each part, but the same overall score. I didnt qualify for the NMS... And yeah. Holy cow T_T; I murdered the first two parts. I did well on the writing though.. And yeah. Wow.

I think I did worse than sophomore year. Because my mom made me take the psat class, and i scored lower during the practic psat than I did sophomore year.
T___T
But then my counselor thinks I'll get nmsqt because my act score was high. I hope I can qualify for semifinalist.
I'm afraid my mom might murder me.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

What is the qualification for the NMS?

alicimoo - Qualifications for the NMS are that 1) you're a junior and 2).. The index thingy or whatever changes from year to year.. but I think its usually above 200 (2000).. (Last year, one of my friends got like.. 2000 something.. but yeah, she didnt qualify since she wasnt a junior.)
When you get your score sheet, when you open it up, on the upper right corner-sideish, theres your grade (probably 3 digits, you just add a zero to see what you scored out of 2400).. the people who qualify for the scholarship have a little * next to the number. (ie 220*) <-- i wish I got that.

usually, the cutoff is above 210ish. last year, it was around 219 because that's wat i got and i qualified. i think it was 216 for california, but im not sure. the cutoff is usually somewhere around there.

I'm a sophomore, so I guess it doesn't matter, but it'd still be a pretty nasty wakeup call if I did horribly.
Just wondering, do PSATs actually count for anything other than NMS?

i know someone who got a 214 and still got 99th percentile. the cutoff is pretty low i'm guessing.

Yea the school hands the scores back to you.
How'd you know that your whole school are in that top 1% if you haven't gotten your test back? o_o
T___T ah; lucky sophomores. It felt so good when the grade didnt really matter.

...ahahah that's so high. T___T
Is the percentile based only on the people in the school or is it national?
