2NE1 Is Up for MTV Iggy's Best New Band in the World 2011

The four fierce ladies that are 2NE1 are in competition to be named MTV Iggy’s “Best New Band in the World 2011.” 2NE1 is one of 10 artists, across different musical genres and from all over the world vying for the honor.

MTV Iggy is an MTV Networks brand, a multi-platform initiative focused on global music and pop culture. The “Best New Band in the World” is culled from the new music received, scoured and sifted through various channels, including social networking sites and the Internet that the MTV Iggy headquarters review. The Los Angeles-based electro hop quartet Far East Movement, now beginning to make waves in the global music scene, was once a recipient of the MTV Iggy “Best New Band in the World” title.

2NE1’s nomination comes at the heels of their labelmates Big Bang’s nomination in the MTV Europe Music Awards, to be held on November 6.
