IU to Release Second Japanese Single This Summer

Singer IU plans to heat up the summer in Japan with the release of her second single.

Not long ago, an announcement was made regarding IU’s second single, “You and I.”  The announcement confirmed that the single would be released in Japan on July 18.  Originally, the single was released in Korea last fall and was an instant hit domestically.

There will be three versions of the single available for purchase.  Two versions will be first print limited editions (Type A and Type B) and a regular version.  Type A includes a CD with the Japanese version of “You and I” and a second track, which at this time is to be announced, along with a DVD that contains a music video of footage from her “IU Friendship Showcase”  held in Japan.  The second limited edition, Type B, will have the same CD as Type A but the DVD will include her “You and I” MV along with a behind-the-scenes making of video.  Lastly, the regular edition will contain a three track CD which, along with the previous two tracks, will have a bonus instrumental version of IU’s “You and I.”

Back in March, IU released her first single “Good Day” in Japan.  The popular song had been adapted for the Japanese market.  Upon it’s release, the single was well received among the public as it charted on the Oricon Charts.  IU held a five city showcase in April throughout Japan.  At the showcase IU made a huge impact on her fans.  Her popularity was strongly felt as, it was reported that, even female fans fainted from witnessing IU perform on stage.

Prior to her Japanese promotions, IU will be holding her first solo concert, “Real Fantasy” in June.  The concert tour will make stops in six different cities throughout Korea. IU wants to be able to meet her domestic fans first.  Lucky fans will be have a chance to see IU perform live in Seoul at the Hall of Peace at Kyunghee University, Busan, Ulsan, and Jonju to name a few of the six locations.
