Rapper Ludacris Wants to Meet YGE’s Teddy the Most

With the date for his first-ever visit to Korea approaching, American rapper Ludacris has named YG Entertainment’s producer Teddy as the musician he wanted to meet the most in Korea.

Last week, it was reported that Ludacris would sign an MOU (memorandum of understanding) with YG Entertainment for musical exchange and would visit the YG Entertainment headquarters on Sept. 20. With the first-ever meeting of the two giants of U.S. and Korean hip-hop scene coming up, associates of the industry are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The reason Ludacris chose Teddy as the musician he wanted to meet the most is because he heard that Teddy was the producer for most of YG’s hip-hop music, which had been receiving great reviews for having the most potential in the global markets.

Ludacris passed on, “I think Teddy is a true talent who can take the club-tune electronic hip-hop sounds that are dominating global markets and turn into a Korean styled music. I highly value Teddy’s skills of incorporating traditional hip-hop, electronics, and rock into his own style.”

Teddy has debuted as a member of YG’s original hip-hop group 1TYM in 1998, and is now acting as the top producer of YG Entertainment, continuously raising his values in the music market. Having steadily worked as a producer/composer since his 1TYM days, he’s made a solid foundation by working as album producer/composer for artists such as Bigbang and 2NE1. Recently, Park Jin Young of JYP Entertainment also praised Teddy by saying he’s the best producer he would want scout from YG Entertainment.
