SNSD Makes History in Japan!

Girls’ Generation’s (SNSD) first Japanese album, “Girls’ Generation,” has sold 500K copies within a month of its release. The Recording Industry Association of Japan awards artists who sell over 500k copies the Double Platinum title, and SNSD became the first Korean group to have been awarded the honorable title.  Their first Japanese album was released on June 1^st .

“Girls’ Generation” sold over 233K copies and claimed  the No. 1 spot on the Oricon weekly album charts within a week of its release, proving their immense popularity in Japan. Meanwhile, SNSD will complete their last “Japanese Arena Tour” this weekend and head back home for two concerts in Seoul on July 23^rd and 24^th at the Olympic Gymnastics Stadium.
