Hallyu star Ryu Si-won has clarified his intent not to work as a singer in Korea.

Despite his previous activities as a singer in the country, Ryu said, "Thanks to the success of my albums in Japan, some domestic album agencies have asked me to produce more albums. But I want to work as an actor, not as a singer, in this country, because that’s what my fans want."

Last year, Ryu had his album entitled "Sakura" top the Oricon charts in Japan. His third single album "Summer’s Dream" has also topped the Oricon charts recently. Subsequently, some people cautiously raised the possibility of his giving a comeback concert in Korea.

Marking the third anniversary of his debut in Japan this year, Ryu has advised Korean entertainers who are dreaming of advancing into the Japanese market not to raise wild speculation.

Ryu said, "As a result of the inflated expectations about the hallyu boom, Korean entertainers planning to advance into the Japanese market appear to have wild fancies about their activities in Japan. It is important to work thoroughly in compliance with Japanese methods and styles in order to achieve success there."

Asked about any plans to marry, Ryu said, "I’m going to concentrate on my work for the time being. I will give it more thought two to three years later."

Meanwhile, Ryu will release a new album entitled "Asian Blow" in Japan on May 10. He plans to give a concert in Japan under the title "Ryu Siwon Japan Live 2006" in Japan in June and July.
