The five-man group SS501 is set to captivate Japan with its outstanding singing ability and gentlemanly stage manners that have captivated Korean fans.
The group will make its first appearance in Japan through music cable Mnet’s special program “M Countdown in Japan” to be held at Budokan in Tokyo on Saturday, along with other popular Korean singers such as Lee Hyo-lee, Shinhwa, Shin Seung-hoon, TVXQ and K.
SS501 plans to hold a fan meeting at a hotel in Tokyo on Sunday, where it will perform a mini concert, talk directly with fans, and hold several events to show off their charm to Japanese fans.
The fan meeting is expected to serve as a place to prove the group’s increasing popularity in Japan. Tickets are already sold out, and thus some tickets are selling for more than 30,000 yen at internet auction sites.
The group’s agency DSP Entertainment said that the performance and fan meeting in Japan will mark the beginning of the group’s overseas activities. “With that as a starting point, SS501 will try to captivate the entire Asia region,” it said.
