Artists managed by the agency SM Entertainment have held a showcase in Japan on June 26 entitled “SM X Avex Showcase Live.”
Organized by SM Entertainment and Japan’s Avex Entertainment, the one-hour event aimed to introduce talented Korean artists popular in Japan to Japanese record industry experts.
Female group Chunsangjihee performed British group Queen’s hit songs “We Will Rock You” and “The Club,” and three songs from its new album slated for release on July 12.
Following the group’s performance, SM Entertainment CEO Kim Young-min introduced the agency, which has produced such top artists as BoA, TVXQ and Chunsangjihee.
Boy band TVXQ performed the new single “Begin” and the title song of its second album, “Rising Sun,” enrapturing the audience, while BoA sang “Nanairono Ashita” and “Everlasting” in the finale of the showcase.
After the concert, the CEO of Avex Entertainment’s parent company Avex Group Holdings, Araki Takashi, praised each of the artists and expressed his expectations for their future activities.
BoA, TVXQ and Chunsangjihee also met with some 500 record industry experts who attended the event and posed for commemorative pictures.
