Actor Cho In-sung left for Japan on Sunday to attend official fan meetings in Tokyo on Monday and Osaka on Wednesday.
Cho was greeted by some 800 enthusiastic fans at Haneda International Airport, and he waved at them in acknowledgement. He expressed his gratitude to his fans by bowing to them when they shouted out his name in unison as he walked toward an exit.
A staff member at the airport said that this was the first time this year that he had seen such a large crowd of fans gather to see a star. The airport had to bring in extra security guards and police officers to maintain order.
Cho first made himself known in Japan with his role in the drama "What Happened in Bali," and then consolidated his status as a leading Korean star through his role in "Shoot for the Stars."
