A group of Korean singers, called the YG Family, will hold its concerts this October at some major cities in the U.S. to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of YG Entertainment. The cities include New York, Washington D.C., and Los Angeles.
Some of famous Korean singers, such as Seven and Big Mama, will reportedly participate in the music performance, named “YG Family 10th Anniversary World Tour Concert.”
The YG family will make music performance at DAR Constitution Hall in Washington D.C. on Oct.18 and at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Oct. 19, respectively. The concert will also take place at Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles on Oct. 21.
The Madison Square Garden is a world’s well-known concert place. Many popular singers and players, including Eric Clapton, Elton John, and Billy Joel, have performed in this place. Barbara Streisand will perform on the same stage on Oct. 9 and 11. Last February, the rising Korean pop star Rain had his concert at this place and was spotlighted by the New York Times and the New York Daily News.
YG Entertainment is now enthusiastically looking for its way into the U.S. entertainment market. Yang Hyun-seok, the CEO of YG Entertainment, and Morgan Carey, the world-famous singer Mariah Carey’s brother, became partners last August. They are planning to launch YG America soon.
“The Korean singer Seven is now recording his album with a famous American producer,” Yang said. “The Korean Hip Hop Reggae group Stony Skunk will be also introduced to the U.S. market.”
