Weekly Music Chart 2007 – May week 4

2007-05-29 07:34:18 2010-11-24 11:06:44

No. 1 song: MC The Max's "가슴아 그만해" (My Heart Cannot Go On Like This Any Longer) moves up to the top spot this week, edging out Lexy's "하늘위로" (Up to the sky) by 13 points. This is the trio's 4th No. 1 song. Since their 2nd album, each of MC The Max's title song has reached No. 1, and this song is of no exception. They are really a model of consistency with their trademark rock ballads.

Biggest Mover of the week: CSJH The Grace scored their first top 20 hit with "한번 더 OK?" (One More Time OK?), moving up 22 spots to No. 17. To our surprise, the female quartet has not previously reached the top 20 despite high exposure. This powerful dance track is written by Kenzie, who has written many hits for SM artists.

Hot shot debut: Lee Jae Won's "I'm So Hot" is our highest debut this week at No. 34. This song is coming from Lee Jae Won's 1.5 album. Lee Jae Won shows a lot of powerful dance hip-hop moves on his performance. This song is perfect for summer.

New songs: A quiet week, only 4 new songs and 2 re-entries.

Songs to watch out:

4. Yoon Ha – 비밀번호 486 (Secret Number 486) – Despite being on the chart for a long time, Yoon Ha finally got her first taste of top spot by winning the mutizen award on SBS Inky Gayo last week. This song is rebounding on a lot of charts this week, so it moves back up to No. 4. Her album sales are still very strong. Let see if she can reach No. 1 on this chart before switching to another song.

19. T – 검은 행복 (Black Happiness) – Seems that this song received better reception than her 1st hit ""잊었니" (Did you forget?) on this album. As I mentioned last week, this song is much more to T's root of hip-hop so it is not surprised than fans perfered this than her ballads.

21. Gummy – 통증 (Pain) – We haven't had a drama OST song hitting the top 20 yet this year. This song from drama H.I.T. is knocking on the door. Despite its so-so rating, this R&B song is quite popular.

24. Lee Ki Chan – 세사람 (New Person) – A new version of this song featuring WAX has been surfaced recently on his repackaged 9th album. May be that's enough to push this song up to the top 20.

40. Ji Eun – 어제와다른오늘 (Yesterday different from today) – One of YG's top female prospects, Ji Eun has been in training for a few years and also featured on other YG artists albums, the most recent one being Lexy's "Up to the sky". Her first solo effort is an R&B ballad which showcased her rich voice. Ji Eun hasn't come out to perform in public yet and looks like she doesn't plan to, which may hurt the popularity of this song.
