Comment: After spending
the last three weeks at No. 2, 2AM finally unseated SNSD and scored
their first No. 1 song on our chart with “Can’t Send You Even If I Die”,
a song produced by hitmaker “Hitman” Bang Shi Hyuk. Through their new
mini-album, 2AM will be able to show hybrid genres with trendy sounds
and danceable beats, a 200% upgrade from their last. To fit the global
trends in music, electronica sounds can also be heard. We are able to
see that 2AM are also capable of dance numbers. The title track which
is the same as the mini-album title, is still the vintage power ballad
we are known of 2AM. Congratulations!

very successful 2009 seeing them become one of k-pop’s premier girl

of the electronic pop genre and is about confessing to a crush in a cute
and honest way.

This Person” is a sweet easy listening ballad which is tailor-made to
fit the singer’s voice. This week it dropped one spot to No. 5.

Comment: After surprisingly winning the top
female group on our last year’s Soompi Gayo Award, Kara continues their
strong showing on our chart. The title song “Lupin” from their recently
released 3rd mini-album of the same name debuted very high at No. 6
this week. Kara vowed to return to a more fierce image on this
mini-album, a concept that did not fare too well when they used it on
their debut album. But that was then and this is now. Kara has
developed a large and loyal fan base now and fans are more receptive of
their change in concept this time.

“Fire,” “I Don’t Care,” Dara’s “Kiss,” Park Bom’s “You and I,” and CL
& Minzi’s “Please Don’t Go.” The song has an unstoppable and strong
feel to it. This song is for the new Samsung Corby Folder phone and
2NE1 filmed a CF for it. With usual YG styled hiphop and upbeat music,
this song uses a phase of Korean children’s song “Try to Follow Me.”
Within a few hours after the release it took No. 1 spots on many online
Korean music charts.

Last year, Big Bang introduced 2NE1 (who ironically is one spot above
them this week) with the song Lollipop. Now part 2 of this song has
just been released and it is all Big Bang this time. During the past
year, each of the members has been busy with their solo activities
whether it was through solo music activities or for drama soundtracks.
This is their first time in a while since the group has worked together
as a whole. The song is a hip-hop electronica number for the LG Cyon
mobile phone and once again, it was composed by Teddy with lyrics penned
by Teddy, G-Dragon, and TOP. Through this song, the boys are to show
their sexy and manly side.

reality TV Show “We Got Married”. The song features Brown Eyed Girl’s
Ga In and 2AM’s Jo Kwon. It’s composed by Brown Eyed Girl’s leader
Je-A. It is a nice duet song that has an (8 beat) new wave sound that
was popular during the 1980s. Composer Lee Min Soo (Love; Abracadabra)
and lyricist Kim In Na have contributed in creating the song as well. Ga
In and Jo Kwon also contributed to the lyrics by telling honest stories
of their make-believe marriage life. Through this couple/duet song, we
will be able to listen to their wonderful harmony and outstanding vocal

Comment: Tim (aka Hwang Young Min) is a
Korean-American ballad singer. “I Love You” is the main track for Tim’s
first album and was written by famous producer Yoon Sang who mentored
Tim for his first album. This song was a huge success with his debut in
2003. He was labeled as the new “ballad prince”. This song is still
regularly played for it’s confession of love and a popular karaoke song.
Tim’s last album was in 2007 with his fourth album and he released two
