Younha will be making her comeback on this week’s MNet M! Countdown with her new song “One Shot”
After prematurely ending her promotions of “Broke Up Today” due to her health early this year, she had been absent from the music scene for a while.
“I went for a transformation so I could leave a strong impression after a long absence. I know that to some people it seems like I’m weak because I fainted in the beginning of the year, so I wanted to change that image.”
Continuing about that experience, she said “I was watching music programs at the hospital and I cried. I had finally gained some recognition with good music. I was sorry to my manager. It was a hard time mentally for me.”
“After my jacket photos were released, a lot of people commented ‘Is she going for this look?’ I thought to myself, ‘I didn’t do it for no reason.’ I want to show them that there’s more than what meets the eye. The music and the costumes are very experimental.”
She said, “It’s like how the ground dries up after the rain has come. I’ve become closer with my staff. I have a feeling I can do well again. I think being sick did have some benefits.”
Younha finished off by saying, “I can’t force my music on people. I will work hard but it’s important to have people naturally listen to your music rather than force it on them.”
Recently she released a Japanese album “Under One Sky”, on September 22. This week, she has already finished recording for Yoo Heeyeol’s Sketchbook and Kim Jungeun’s Chocolate. Today, (the 14th in Korea) is when the single will be digitally released. Her comeback performance is later tonight on Mnet M! Countdown.
