U-Kiss is heading to Brunei as part of their Asian promotion in May, becoming the first Korean artist to hold a concert in the island state. The group said they got a special invitation and will hold both a concert and a fan meeting event for their Brunei fans. “This will be our first visit to Brunei. We’ve never been to the country so it feels very new. We’re the first Korean artist to perform there, so we feel nervous and more pressure to do well,” U-Kiss told local media.
It comes as a bit of a surprise to hear U-Kiss hold a concert in Brunei, as the Southeast Asian country is a small island state with a population around 380,000. But Brunei, in fact, is one of the most developed countries in the world with the second highest Human Development Index among the South East Asian countries after Singapore. According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Brunei is ranked fourth in the world by gross domestic product per capita at purchasing power parity. U-Kiss currently is busy promoting their new single “0330” in Korea. Their Asian tour will include visits to Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, and Singapore.
