On December 10 and 11, BoA held her 10th anniversary Christmas concert at the Tokyo International Forum A Hall in Japan.
The two day concert saw a total of 10,000 fans, with 5,000 on each concert day. As the concert was a commemoration of her Japanese career and the upcoming Christmas holidays, BoA surprised many by breaking out into tears mid-concert.
Japanese media outlet Sankei Sports reported, “On December 11, BoA held her 10th anniversary and Christmas concert and cried during the concert’s final track, ‘Meri Kuri.’ She said, ‘I cannot sing the rest because tears keep coming out.’ She was visibly moved by her fans.'”
They continued, “The 5,000 member audience sang ‘Meri Kuri’ in unison with her to show their support. Touched by their act of appreciation, she returned to the stage and sang ‘Meri Kuri’ once more.”
After the concert, BoA revealed, “I’m so sorry for crying to the point where I could no longer sing today. My 10 years in Japan has been dramatic like a movie. Now is the beginning of another 10 years.”
At the concert, BoA showed off her variety of images by dressing up in different wigs and mini-dresses that expressed her maturing age.
Her 10th anniversary DVD, “Milestone,” has also been doing well on the charts, placing eighth on the Oricon daily DVD chart.
