On January 22, one of Korea’s biggest entertainment agencies, YG Entertainment, sent its Lunar New Year greetings along with the greetings from its biggest stars. Girl group 2NE1, boy group Big Bang and international star Se7en all greeted their fans.
2NE1 had a very busy year in 2011. Not only were they growing bigger in Korea, but in a very short amount of time they also managed to grow big on an international level. They not only won MTV Iggy’s “Best New Band In The World 2011”, but also got to perform at the MTV Studio in Time Square. With their eccentric style, strong performances, touching songs like “It Hurts” and “Lonely,” as well as powerful songs like “I Am The Best,” they also successfully managed to get positive attention on an international level.
This is their message:
“Hello. What’s up 2NE1! Happy new year. Again, we will show you 2NE1’s positive sides, so please expect the best of us. In 2012, we will try to be an even better 2NE1. We are very thankful that you have always supported us. Please be healthy.”
Big Bang has had a very eventful 2011 with its ups and downs. However, they have prepared themselves for a powerful comeback in 2012. They plan to show an even more powerful energy than they had right after their grand debut. Big Bang’s own “dragons,” G-Dragon and Taeyang (both are born in 1988, the year of the dragon), have greeted their fans with the following message:
“We will strive to live up to our group name, Big Bang, and show you our best sides.” (G-Dragon)
“We will be the best in the world. Please keep watching us.” (Taeyang)
Se7en can now be considered as one of YG Entertainment’s pillars. After the release of his new Japanese album, his popularity is growing immensely. His album not only gained the first position in the Japanese “Tower Records” selling list, but also got into Oricon Chart’s top ten.
“I will start a new beginning this year. After a long while, I have met my fans again. This year, I will do more of my best. Happy new year and please continue keeping track of my activities.”
Many of YG Entertainment’s artists have their comebacks this year. Se7en is currently busy with his Japanese comeback and Big Bang is preparing for their spectacular comeback and is planning to release a new album soon. Both are also planning to do a grand promotion activity together. There is also much attention swirling around for the new upcoming groups in which two stars of MNet’s “Super Star K2”, Kim Eun Bi and Kang Seung Yoon will be part of. It is expected that 2012 will be a very fruitful year for YG Entertainment.
