Korean American hip-hop musician Dumbfoundead will be performing tomorrow in LACMA’s first hip-hop concert series, “Through the Mic,” along with hip-hop legend Medusa and opening act Gizzle. “Through the Mic” is the first concert of its kind celebrating the diversity of Los Angeles-based contemporary hip-hop. Those of you who attended Epik High’s “Map the Soul” tour will remember Dumbfoundead as the high-energy opening act. However, he’s best-known for his affiliation with hip-hop collective Project Blowed. He’s also participated in the West Coast division of rap battle league “Grind Time” and Jumpoff’s 2007 World Rap Championships. in 2010, he helped create Knocksteady, a hip-hop collective based in Los Angeles. He’s been featured on CNN, NBC LA, Fox 11, and Gizmodo for spearheading the LA Underground scene.
