The new idol drama “To the Beautiful You” adds another cast member as it hurries towards its August premiere. Actor Ki Tae Young joins series leads, f(x)’s Sulli and SHINee’s Minho in the Korean adaptation of the Japanese manga “Hana Kimi.”
According to reports in local news agencies, Ki Tae Young will play a school nurse in “To the Beautiful You.” It is also reported that his character holds the secret of Sulli’s character, Goo Jae Hee, a girl who pretends to be a boy to be close to her crush. He is also the one who helps Goo Jae Hee whenever she runs into trouble.
“Ki Tae Young looks neat and exudes warmth. His image fits the character perfectly,” an official of the drama is quoted as saying.
The newest version of “Hana Kimi” is under the helm of director Jeon Ki Sang, who is known for directing “Delightful Girl Chun Hyang,” “My Girl” and 2009’s “Boys Over Flowers,” the Korean adaptation of yet another Japanese manga, “Hana Yori Dango.”
“To the Beautiful You” is set to air on SBS.
