Park Shin Hye conducts a not-so-ordinary fan meeting in celebration of her birthday. According to reports in local news agencies, the actress spent the afternoon of February 17, the eve of her birthday with her official Korean fan club named Starlight Angels.
The event, held at the Jungnan Min Sports Center Gymnasium was different from the usual fan meeting. Instead of Park Shin Hye onstage and looking out to fans, she was hand-in-hand and side by side with them as they engaged in various sports activities. Park Shin Hye began with her opening remarks, and like in all sports events, paid respects to the flag and took an oath of sportsmanship.
The fans who joined were divided into two teams, with games like dodgeball and tug-of-war, which turned intense and competitive. Park Shin Hye spent three hours alternately attentively watching with refereees and actively participating. The event closed with fans presenting a birthday cake with candles.
According to a statement from Park Shin Hye’s agency, “Park Shin Hye wants to meet with her fans more closely, and thus this athletic competition format of a fan meeting has been planned and proposed. Park Shin Hye has gained the nickname ‘Randy Shin Hye’ for her athletic ability, hoping that she everyone also has a good and healthy heart. They all spent a significant time together.”
The actress echoed the thought on her Twitter account, saying “Thank you. I had a good time. Hope you had good memories from our time together. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, Park Shin Hye’s birthday presents include her well-received film, “Miracle of Room Number 7,” now hitting eightmillion viewers and the success of her ongoing tVN drama with Yoon Si Yoon, “Flower Boy Next Door Neighbor.”
