Singer JOO joins her fellow JYP Entertainment talent, 2PM‘s Taecyeon and other big name stars in the new film “The Eve of Marriage.” Local news agencies report the announcement from JYP Entertainment, saying “This will be JOO’s first challenge in taking on a movie role.”
Apart from Taecyeon, JOO’s co-stars in the film include Kim Kang Woo, Kim Hyo Jin, Joo Ji Hoon, Lee Yeon Hee and Go Jun Hee, among others. JOO will feature in Lee Yeon Hee’s segment of the film, in which the singer will play a nail artist. The character is the best friend of Lee Yeon Hee’s character.
In addition, Ma Dong Suk is also reported to join the cast. He will play a pretty boy florist.
“It is an honor to be part of the movie that is lovely and wonderful. The character I will be playing has a nice charm and I will do everything possible to be able to act it out. I hope to meet your expectations and show me a lot of interest,” JOO said in a statement.
Though this is the singer’s first film role, her acting experience goes back from appearing in the teen drama “Dream High 2” and in the musical “Catch Me if You Can.”
“The Eve of Marriage” tells the story of four couples on the week before their weddings, and the stresses, anxieties and events that these people experience before their marriage. The film is from the director of “The Naked Kitchen” and is expected to begin cranking at the end of April for a release in the later half of the year.
