Shinhwa and Lee Hyori are only a few first generation idols left to keep going strong in the music scene.
On May 8, Shinhwa was in the middle of an interview when the members cheered on friend Lee Hyori. Eric said, “I saw the ‘Miss Korea’ music video with the staff and admired, ‘Of course. It’s Lee Hyori.’ As a fellow first generation idol, it’s awesome to see her actively promoting.”
Lee Minwoo shared, “[Lee Hyori’s comeback] is something to be celebrated and it’s really awesome. Both of us are making our comebacks around the same time and even though time has passed, it’s great that we’re able to show our professional sides to one another.”
Shin Hyesung added, “Because of Lee Hyori, the interest for first generation idols has grown. We hope that the atmosphere [for interest in first generation idols] will get bigger.”
Shinhwa will make its comeback on May 16 with eleventh studio album “The Classic” and appear on KBS’s “Music Bank” as it’s first official schedule. Through Mnet’s “Lee Hyori Comeback Show,” which will air on May 22, Lee Hyori will kickstart her fifth album “MONOCHROME” promotions.
