Listen up, Soompiers!
Got some fun stuff coming your way! Soompi joined hands with Genie, KT Music, Olleh Square and Ustream to present a special monthly event called “Lee.Bahl.Show” (acronym for This Month’s Discovery Show) where you’ll be able to catch artists who are hard to see normally on Korean television.
The main event will take place on the last Wednesday of each month from 7:30-8:30pm (KST) at Olleh Square in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. So, come on by and enjoy the performances if you’re in town!
Not in Korea? No worries! You can tune in here with your computer, smartphone or tablet to watch it live! www.ustream.tv/channel/olleh-square
To kickstart the fun monthly event, talented trio girl group Odd Eye will be the main guests for July and pianist Lee Jin Wook will be the special guest. If you think mainstream music needs more substance, these girls have a strong background in classical music and wants to “mutate the overly repetitive K-Pop industry into a new form of exciting music.” So, tune in and see if they really have what it takes to change K-Pop to something better!
And for fans of jazz, you’re just in luck! For the next two weeks, starting today July 31, there will be a “Summer Breeze Concert” from 6:30pm. First up is 18 person jazz band called JBeeS Jazz Big Band. The group plays jazz, but also dips into other genres including bossa nova, Latin, pop and funk.
A representative from Ustream stated, “Not only is the music performance at Olleh Square’s Dream Hall very high in standard, but it has a big significance for outdoor performance culture. Rather than seeing the whole performance in person, I look forward to the fact that people, wherever they are, are able to easily enjoy the music performances from the venue.”
