Actor Lee Sun Kyun dons a school uniform for his role as Kim Hyung Joon in MBC’s new Wednesday-Thursday drama “Miss Korea.”
Lee Sun Kyun plays “queen maker” Kim Hyung Joon, the man who will transform elevator girl Oh Ji Young (Lee Yeon Hee) into Miss Korea in order to save his failing company.
In still cuts released on December 3 of a filming session at a high school in Seoul, Lee Sun Kyun presents a different side to his usual charismatic look. Having never worn a school uniform since his debut as an actor, it was said that Lee Sun Kyun could not look at himself in the mirror.
Lee Sun Gyun was slightly embarrassed to be in school uniform, and there was constant laughter on set. Playing a fellow classmate, Lee Sun Gyun filmed together with actual high school students, and was initially so shy about it that he had trouble speaking.
However, like the consummate actor he is, he managed to play the role of the ingenuous high school prankster naturally, eventually getting the hang of it. “Will this be the last of the school uniform for me? I need to bask in this a little longer,” he said, lingering in front of the mirror.
A representative who was on set with the actor said, “I was surprised because the school uniform looked better on Lee Sun Kyun than I expected. Lee Sun Kyun has showed his transformation in ‘Miss Korea,’ please anticipate the drama.”
“Miss Korea” is an SM C&C production, starring Lee Sun Kyun, Lee Yeon Hee, Lee Mi Sook, Lee Sung Min, Song Sun Mi, Lee Ki Woo, Go Sung Hee, and Jewelry’s Kim Ye Won. Lee Sun Kyun reunites with the cast and crew of “Pasta” and “Golden Time” for this drama.
“Miss Korea” will air its first episode on December 18 at 10:00 PM KST.
