The year end music festivals for the big three broadcasting stations aired last week and brought us many amazing special stages from 2013’s top artists. The KBS Gayo Daejun aired on December 27, followed by SBS Gayo Daejun on December 29 and finally the MBC Gayo Daejun on December 31.
While SBS did seem to be the largest scale of the three, celebrities and fans complained about the poor camerawork throughout the show. MBC, being the last one to air, got to ring in the New Year with all the artists on stage.
Here are a few of my choices for must watch performances from the shows.
A Pink, having promoted with cute songs since their debut, swapped songs with Girl’s Day for a special stage on SBS. It was a big change to see them pull off the sexy suspender dance from “Expectation.” Girl’s Day‘s performing “No No No” was also cute. Also watch : A Pink+B1A4 Love Song Medley on MBC.
Cho Yong Pil’s “Bounce” was perhaps the biggest non idol song this year. KBS’s show started with all artists coming on stage for the song, while MBC had it as their part of an opening stage mix. On SBS, ZE:A and Nine Muses performed a electronic dance version of the song. (Starts at 4:12 into the video).
Bizzy, Tiger JK and Yoon Mi Rae on stage always makes for an amazing performance. Adding in Eun Ji Won, Rap Monster, Baro, Bang Yong Guk and Zico brought it to an overkill of awesomeness on SBS. Also see: [MBC] MFBTY (Drunken Tiger; Yoon Mi Rae, Bizzy) and Hyori.
With Nicole’s contract expiring , Kara‘s performance on MBC might be the last time we see them as five members. They performed a nostalgic medley of many of their past hit songs.
It seems like a while since we last saw the TaeTiSeo trio in action. On SBS they performed “Crazy in Love” featuring EXO.
On SBS, Hyori teamed up with 2NE1‘s CL for the “Bad Girl / The Baddest Female” collaboration. Out of all the official uploaded performances on from the year end music shows, this one had the most views with half a million. Also see: Hyori and Dynamic Duo on KBS.
SHINee performed a ballad version of “Dream Girl” featuring Henry on MBC. Also see: SHINE featuring EXO on SBS.
Big Bang‘s G-Dragon and Taeyang teamed up for their special stage on SBS. They performed “1 AM”, “Crooked” , “Ringa Linga” and “Bad Boy.”
It was nice to see Girls’ Generation get a chance to perform something else besides “I Got A Boy.” They did “Express 999″ on SBS.
What was your favorite performance from last weekend?
