Kim Soo Hyun, who plays the alien Do Min Joon in “Man From the Stars,” will be personally singing one of the songs on the soundtrack, according to Donga.com. Several entertainment officials have said, “Kim Soo Hyun has agreed with the drama production team to participate in the ‘Man From the Stars’ soundtrack. You should be able to hear Kim Soo Hyun’s voice near the end of the drama.”
However, it seems that these were no more than just rumors. In response to the above reports, on February 3, Kim Soo Hyun’s agency said to Sports Seoul that “We haven’t received any proposal from the production team for participation in the soundtrack. We need to have received an offer to have done any discussion on the matter, and the agency hasn’t discussed the soundtrack at all.”
If Kim Soo Hyun does end up participating in the soundtrack, the drama might receive even more interest from its already avid fan base. Moreover, it would be quite interesting to see if we get another soundtrack hit from a drama lead, like Hyun Bin’s version of “That Man” from the popular drama “Secret Garden,” which swept the charts. Kim Soo Hyun has previous experience with singing for a soundtrack with the drama “Dream High,” where he sang “Dreaming,” as well as the drama “Moon That Embraces the Sun.”
The artists featured on the “Man From the Stars” soundtrack are Hyorin, Lyn, K.Will, Younha, Just, Huh Gak, etc., and along with the popularity of the drama, the songs have built quite a presence on the music charts.
