Ryu Seung Ryong sure knows how to make a mark in his first action movie! The actor revealed that he had not utilized a stunt double for 95% of the action scenes in his new movie, “The Target.”
On April 24, “The Target” held its media conference to promote the upcoming release of the action movie. In regards to the film’s plot, Ryu Seung Ryong commented, “My character, Yeo Hoon, is a former mercenary. He returns to Korea to try and live a normal life when he is framed for a murder. It becomes a difficult situation when he is being chased as the murderer while at the same time he is chasing the person who framed him.”
Furthermore, the actor revealed that he had acted in about 95% of the action scenes without the help of a stunt double.
As “The Target” is Ryu Seung Ryong’s first action film, the actor expressed, “This is my first time filming for an action movie in which I personally run and hit things. Thus, challenging my first action film has been a new and meaningful experience. I tried my best to show an action film with much emotion, yet it was indeed difficult. That is how much I’ve tried during filming. I want to quickly show people my new image.”
“The Target” is the remake of the 2011 french film “Point Blank.” As Ryu Seung Ryong’s character Yeo Hoon fights to protect his and his wife’s lives, he must fight to figure out who framed him for a murder he did not commit. “The Target” will be released on April 30.
