On April 29, actor Lee Jong Suk attended a press conference for SBS’ new Monday-Tuesday “Doctor Stranger.”

In the drama, Lee Jong Suk will play the role of Park Hoon, a genius surgeon. Although he was born in the South, Park Hoon ends up being raised in North Korea through a series of fated events. After seeing his first love disappear right before his eyes, he puts everything on the line in order to find her again.

At the press conference – when asked about the burden of viewer ratings – Lee Jong Suk stated, “The director told me that even if the drama does not end up doing well, it would be okay because I will have the opportunity to show many different sides of my acting. I had a mental breakdown due to the difficulty of portraying my character. I am really relying on the director to guide me.”

He added, “I have shown a younger, boyish image until now but I would like people to see a more masculine and mature side of my acting in ‘Doctor Stranger.’

Viewers are anticipating this upcoming drama, which will be broadcasting its premiere episode on May 5 at 9:55 PM (KST) on SBS.
