During an interview, Seo Kang Joon spoke about the immense popularity he enjoyed through his latest character in the drama, “Cunning Single Lady.”
Seo Kang Joon played the role of Gook Seung Hyun, a younger man who falls in love with the older divorcee Na Ae Ra (played by Lee Min Jung). His excellent portrayal of a cunningly perfect younger man captivated the hearts of many fans.
The younger man/older woman pairing has been a trend lately with other dramas such as JTBC’s “Secret Love Affair” and tvN’s “A Witch’s Love.” Seo Kang Joon actually mentioned the “Secret Love Affair” star Yoo Ah In during this interview.
“There is a reason why I felt so honored after looking at a couple of articles that were about the younger men characters. It was because my name was up there with Yoo Ah In. Ever since I started acting, Yoo Ah In was my role model. I started to watch Yoo Ah In’s ‘Secret Love Affair’ these days. I haven’t finished watching everything yet, but I couldn’t help but say, ‘Of course, he’s amazing.’ I think he is a senior who is worthy to be respected. I want to be an actor like him,” he said.
In “Secret Love Affair,” Yoo Ah In plays the role of a genius pianist named Lee Sun Jae, who falls in love with a married woman in her forties named Oh Hye Won (played by Kim Hee Ae).
