Media network MBC has announced it will be airing a special television show ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, featuring A Pink’s Jung Eunji, After School’s Lizzy and announcer Kim Jeong Geun. The trio will be program hosts for the show, which is being organized as a World Cup “supporting” event.
The competition kicks off in June, but the buildup has already begun for the major Korean networks, and the show will air live on May 28 at 6:20pm Korean time. One of the highlights of the program will be a performance by girl group AOA, who will perform their World Cup support song for the first time.
The show will also feature a performance by veteran rock star YB. The singer recorded one of the most enduring songs of the 2002 World Cup, when the event was held in Korea and Japan.
Also taking the stage at the event will be K-pop acts such as EXO-K, Crayon Pop, Block B, Lena Park, A Pink, Girl’s Day, Orange Caramel, and VIXX.
